Bernard, better known as “BJ,” joined BayCoast Insurance as a Licensed Producer in 2015 and was later promoted to Vice President in 2020. As Vice President for BayCoast Insurance, he is responsible for developing new business and creating quality customer relationships.

BJ holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and is a fully licensed Property, Casualty, and Life Insurance Broker. BJ has also earned the national designation of Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). In addition to his insurance credentials, BJ has extensive experience in customer service, having previously worked as part of the customer service team at MEDITECH in Fall River. During his time at MEDITECH, he coordinated projects with the IT departments of hospitals across the country.

BJ resides in Fall River, MA with his wife Ally and daughter Maya. As a lifelong resident of Fall River, BJ spent a few seasons as an assistant football coach at B.M.C. Durfee High School. He has also served as volunteer basketball coach at the Fall River Boys and Girls Club and in the Fall River Youth Basketball League. He is currently on the board of the Durfee High School Athletic Foundation & an active member of the Fall River Lions Club, and has served on the United Way’s Campaign Cabinet. He’s an avid New England sports fan and enjoys playing golf and spending time at the beach.
